Mohsin Naqvi Meets Sri Lankan President in Colombo

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, called on Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during his visit to Colombo, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including counterterrorism, anti-narcotics cooperation, and strengthening bilateral relations.

During the meeting, President Dissanayake expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for Pakistan’s participation in the cricket match with India, describing it as a positive gesture that reflects sportsmanship and regional goodwill.

Mohsin Naqvi apprised the Sri Lankan President of the visa-related challenges faced by Pakistani nationals. Taking immediate notice of the issue, President Dissanayake directed the relevant authorities to remove Pakistan from all restrictive lists, ensuring facilitation for Pakistani citizens.

The Sri Lankan President further announced that Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister would soon undertake an official visit to Pakistan. He lauded Pakistan’s spirit of goodwill and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

Naqvi, in turn, appreciated President Dissanayake’s constructive role in promoting Pakistan–Sri Lanka relations and conveyed an official invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the Sri Lankan President to visit Pakistan.

The PCB Chairman also thanked the Sri Lankan leadership for the excellent arrangements made for the World Cup and for the warm hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation during their stay in Sri Lanka.
