Amman, Clear Skies Magazine: Jordan on Friday strongly condemned a Houthi attack targeting civilian sites in Saudi Arabia’s southern Najran region, reaffirming its solidarity with the Kingdom and its support for measures aimed at protecting its security and sovereignty.
In a statement, Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a serious threat to Saudi Arabia’s security, stability and territorial integrity, and as a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The ministry reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The condemnation followed an attack late Thursday by Yemen’s Houthi rebels that wounded 11 civilians in southern Saudi Arabia, according to the Riyadh-led coalition.
Coalition spokesman General Turki Al Maliki said in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency that the casualties included seven Saudi nationals, two Egyptians, one Yemeni and one Pakistani.
The attacks occurred in the Najran region along Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen. The reported casualty toll marks an unprecedented level of civilian injuries in the Kingdom in more than four years of hostilities.
Jordan’s position underscores its continued support for Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity and security amid ongoing regional tensions and cross-border threats.
