Baku, Clear Skies Magazine: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, attended the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, Qatar, on September 15, the Foreign Ministry reported.
In his address, Bayramov expressed deep concern over the recent airstrike on Qatar and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the State of Qatar. He urged all parties to adhere to international law and avoid steps that could further escalate tensions.
Commending Qatar’s mediation efforts regarding the Gaza crisis, Bayramov underscored the urgency of resuming negotiations and achieving a permanent ceasefire. He reiterated Azerbaijan’s firm support for the “two-state” solution, in line with the norms of international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
The minister stressed the importance of peace initiatives and humanitarian efforts in resolving the crisis. He noted that since 2023, Azerbaijan has provided $2 million in humanitarian assistance to Palestine as part of its ongoing support to the brotherly Palestinian people. He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s long-standing projects in education and healthcare aimed at supporting Palestine.
Bayramov concluded by emphasizing Azerbaijan’s readiness to continue contributing to international efforts promoting peace, stability, and humanitarian relief in the region.
