On May 6, the Embassy of Russia in Pakistan hosted a reception celebrating the 80th anniversary of the #Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event was held at the highest level, with President Asif Ali Zardari as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, Governor KPK Faisal Karim Kundi, officials from Foreign Office Pakistan, and diplomatic corps.
Addressing the guests, Amb Albert P. Khorev emphasized the timeless nature of Victory, recalling that the peoples of the USSR made a decisive contribution to its achievement and stressed the inadmissibility of distorting the historical truth.
President Zardari congratulated the President, Government, and the people of Russia on the upcoming Victory Day and highlighted the strength and resilience displayed by the Soviet people during the war.
The reception was enlivened by the performance of the State Cossack Song and Dance Ensemble “Stavropolye,” which delighted the audience with some of the most popular songs of the Great Patriotic War.
