Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has directed Junaid Akbar to resign from his position as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), sources revealed.

According to insider accounts, Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister, conveyed the written instructions to senior party leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Salman Akram Raja. The PTI founder’s directive emphasized that Junaid Akbar should focus fully on party affairs, particularly the organization of weekly rallies and conventions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In line with this development, Omar Ayub has reportedly been nominated to take over as the new PAC chairman.

Responding to the reports, Junaid Akbar stated that he would relinquish the position whenever Imran Khan officially asked him to do so. Meanwhile, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja declined to comment on the matter.
