Riyadh, Clear Skies Magazine: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif has inaugurated new command and control and cybersecurity centres, launched digital services for Facilities Security Forces personnel, and opened the Unified Central Admissions Building and its electronic platform as part of the ministry’s efforts to advance digital transformation and enhance operational efficiency.

The inaugurations took place on Tuesday during the minister’s review of operations at the Facilities Security Forces Command in Riyadh.

Prince Abdulaziz inaugurated the Centre for Command and Control and Security Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Systems, which comprises seven specialised units and is connected to 13 command and control centres at the forces’ branches across Saudi Arabia.

The centre is equipped with an integrated network of advanced electronic systems and platforms designed to receive reports, manage and monitor field operations, and facilitate the exchange of security information. These capabilities aim to improve response times and strengthen security coordination in cooperation with the National Centre for Security Operations.

The centre also utilises UAVs equipped with artificial intelligence technologies to support field surveillance and improve the efficiency of security operations within the forces’ areas of responsibility.

During the visit, the minister also inaugurated the Cybersecurity Centre, which is responsible for protecting data and information, securing networks and devices, monitoring systems for vulnerabilities, and detecting and countering cyber threats. The centre aims to safeguard technical infrastructure and ensure business continuity.

Prince Abdulaziz also launched electronic services for Facilities Security Forces personnel through the Absher Interior application. Developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior’s Unified Development Centre under its Technology Affairs sector, the services are intended to simplify administrative procedures and enable personnel to access services electronically.

The minister reviewed upgraded digital services and electronic systems, including the integration of the Mawared system with the Absher platform and the National Unified Access platform, Nafath. Secure technical interfaces have also been established to connect related systems, improving service delivery and supporting the ministry’s digital transformation objectives.

In a separate development, Prince Abdulaziz inaugurated the Unified Central Admissions Building at the Ministry of Interior’s Agency for Military Affairs, along with the Unified Central Admissions Platform.

The building and its digital infrastructure are designed to centralise admission and registration procedures for applicants seeking to join security and military sectors under the Ministry of Interior.

The integrated system automates admission processes, enhances operational efficiency and improves data accuracy through direct integration with relevant government databases. The facility includes dedicated halls, modern processing equipment and specialised vetting committees to accelerate procedures and eliminate redundant paperwork.

During his tour, the minister inspected the building’s facilities, including halls and specialised committees responsible for processing applications from male and female candidates. He was also briefed on the modern technological equipment designed to streamline admission and registration procedures and improve their accuracy and efficiency.

The Unified Central Admissions Platform aims to standardise recruitment procedures through an integrated digital system linked to relevant government entities. By automating processes and improving the accuracy and reliability of data, the platform is expected to expedite applications, simplify the applicant journey and enhance the quality of services.

The initiative forms part of the Ministry of Interior’s broader efforts to strengthen the recruitment of national talent into security sectors, modernise admission and registration procedures, and improve institutional performance and service delivery.

The inauguration ceremonies were attended by Acting Deputy Minister of Interior Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, Assistant Minister of Interior for Operations Mohammed Al-Muhanna, and Director General of the Minister of Interior’s Office for Studies and Research Major General Khalid Al-Arwan.
