Islamabad, Clear Skies Magazine: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashura paid tribute to the unparalleled sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions, saying the tragedy of Karbala continues to serve as a timeless source of guidance for the Muslim Ummah.
In his message, President Zardari said the tragedy of Karbala was not merely a historical event but an eternal message and a living institution of learning. He said Youm-e-Ashura teaches the values of patience, perseverance, selflessness, truthfulness and steadfastness in upholding principles.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his loyal companions had given Youm-e-Ashura everlasting significance in Islamic history. He said Imam Hussain (RA) demonstrated that sacrificing for truth and righteousness is far greater than submitting to falsehood.
The prime minister further said the event of Karbala represents the revival of the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the noble mission of enjoining good and forbidding evil.
