Jakarta, Clear Skies Magazine: Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry is set to deepen strategic industrial cooperation with Russia and Eurasian countries through its participation as the Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026, Eurasia’s largest international industrial exhibition.
In a statement issued on Monday, Indonesian Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said industrial relations between Indonesia and Russia are built on a solid foundation and are progressing toward more concrete and sustainable collaboration.
A delegation comprising 50 Indonesian industrial companies will participate in INNOPROM 2026, scheduled to take place from July 6 to 9 in Yekaterinburg. The minister said Indonesia’s participation represents a significant step in expanding industrial partnerships with Russia and other Eurasian nations while creating new opportunities for investment, manufacturing cooperation, and export market expansion.
“INNOPROM 2026 offers a strategic opportunity to connect industrial stakeholders from both countries, encourage investment, and develop mutually beneficial cooperation,” Kartasasmita said.
Indonesia will feature a national pavilion covering more than 1,500 square meters, making it one of the largest exhibits at the event. Under the theme “Navigating Industrial Futures,” the pavilion will highlight five priority sectors: agro-industry and food processing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, specialized manufacturing and consumer goods, advanced manufacturing and engineering, as well as industrial estates and investment opportunities.
The pavilion will also serve as a venue for business-matching sessions, bilateral business forums, and high-level meetings involving ministerial delegations from Indonesia and partner countries.
The initiative comes amid growing economic ties between Indonesia and Russia. Bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$1.876 billion in 2025, while Russian investment in Indonesia amounted to US$262.8 million.
Indonesia-Russia relations have expanded steadily in recent years. Following a meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Russian President Vladimir Putin in December 2025, which produced key economic understandings, the two leaders met again in April 2026 to advance cooperation in energy, investment, technology, downstream industries, and industrial development.
The growing partnership was further reinforced through the signing of the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EAEU CEPA), which is expected to expand market access for Indonesian products across Eurasia and enhance trade, industrial, and investment cooperation.
Meanwhile, Director General for Resilience, Regional Affairs, and International Industrial Access at Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry, Tri Supondy, said Indonesia views INNOPROM as an important gateway for building long-term industrial and economic partnerships with Eurasian countries. He expressed confidence that the exhibition would help strengthen Indonesia’s position in the Eurasian market while fostering sustainable industrial collaboration.
