Field Marshal Asim Munir Arrives in Tehran for Key Diplomatic Engagements Amid Ongoing Mediation Efforts

Tehran, Clear Skies Magazine: Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran on Tuesday, where he was received at the airport by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal is accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and other members of a high-level delegation.

The ISPR stated that the visit is part of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to facilitate mediation in the region. Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei confirmed that messages are being exchanged between the United States and Iran through Pakistan, underscoring Islamabad’s active role in backchannel diplomacy.

He further noted that Iran is hosting the Pakistani delegation as part of the continuation of diplomatic engagements aimed at de-escalation and dialogue.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Jeddah on an official visit. He was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by the Governor of Jeddah.

During his visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is on a four-day official tour that will also include visits to Qatar and Türkiye, continuing until April 18, with a focus on strengthening regional cooperation and promoting peace initiatives.
